Thyroid and the Parathyroid Gland…

Did you know that the thyroid gland is responsible for regulation of the metabolism. The ability of cells to absorb and use glucose, protein metabolism for growth. The parathyroid is responsible for calcium utilization. There are four little circular glands that sit on the back of the thyroid and they are vital!

Hyperthyroidism is a lot more easy to resolve through detoxification than medication. Doctors just want to remove essential glands that regulate proper functioning of the human body. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE ORGANS…we don’t want to remove organs and glands but instead detoxify the body and regenerate their function. Always remember the 4 keys to focus on with detoxification. We must digest the food we consume, we must absorb the foods we consume, we must utilize the foods we consume, and we must eliminate the foods we consume.

The reason the body is not utilizing the foods we consume is because we have damaged the endocrine glands that are responsible of the regulation and activity of utilization of minerals, vitamins, nutrients, steroids, metabolism, and hormones. If we continue to eat highly cooked, seasoned stimulating processed foods such as dead animal tissue, there milks, starches, and grains we will create further damage to the endocrine glands, and without proper metabolism and calcium utilization your in serious trouble!

When we back up the lymphatic system with acids, mucus, sulphur, and consume parasitic forming foods. We only make it more difficult to heal and regenerate these important glands that regulate the entire function of the body. Chemical medications, chemical hygiene products, the chemicals in the water foods… and the chemicals we are breathing in the air. Make it extremely difficult to keep the lymphatic system clean so we can have healthy glands to function with happy bodies….
In today’s world and the amount of destruction we have caused to our bodies….is above and beyond damaging to the lymphatic system… I have heard people say this may be the first generation were the parents out live there kids. WE NEED TO BE THE GENERATION TO CHANGE THAT!!!

 What is the remedy for regenerating the thyroid and parathyroid?

First thing we can do is to get rid of all stimulants, proteins, chemical drugs, processed, and highly cooked foods. Transitioning to a 100% raw food diet making fruits at least 80% to 100% for your daily Nutritional needs.

Most generations do not think of strengthening their cells, so they keep passing down genetically weakened tissue generation after generation after generation. The problem is that each generation is weaker then the last. Look around and observe the conditions of our children do you know ONE THAT IS NOT CONSTANTLY SICK? They’re coming into this world with chronic and degenerative glandular weaknesses. No medicine on earth can stop this. TRUE HEALTH is the only answer!

If you think of it like our glands are the bosses (or controllers and regulators) of the cells, tissues and organs of the body. When they become hyper (over) active or hypo (under) active, it can create many cellular changes. This can have a highly acidic effect upon tissue, leading to lymphatic and immune responses. This is especially true with oestrogen, testosterone and aldosterone. Long term exposure without cortisone and progesterone buffers can lead to fibrocystic conditions of tissues, as well as tissue atrophy (destruction) and cancer.

We over complete these issues and feel like we have damaged are bodies without repair as I once thought or get convinced we must cut out parts of our bodies or cysts.

Detoxification with the right alkaline chemistry consumption will bring balance and vitality to the human body. Fruits, berries, melons, teddy vegetables, greens and herbs as simple or “restrictive” as it sounds will bring regeneration and promote detoxification to help the body heal it self. Time, patients, and hard work will accomplish any goal you put your mind too. We must put the work and effort into cleaning and repairing our bodies…Be the best project you have ever worked on!

We have a SPECIES SPECIFIC DIET…so what is it?

NO animal in nature cooks there food and every species has a species specific diet, and humans are not an exception. We have just evolved so far past our instincts to modern life we have forgotten how to eat instinctively. We consume “foods” that are unnatural and denatured because we have seasoning, salt, ovens and an addictive tastes which stops our instincts for health and survival now. We have trained our brains to want the addictive foods over our natural foods. We feed our parasites over feeding our cells.

STARCHES: there high in complex carbohydrates which is too much sugar for the body to metabolize and create lots of fermentation and fungal overgrowths. Starches also leave behind a lot of glue like paste that clogs up the villi in the small bowel, and block absorption of nutrients SIBO. To make these palatable you must cook them which changes the chemical compound making them a toxin on the body and addictive. STARCHES ARE NOT OUR OPTIMUM FOOD…

MEAT: it’s dead tissue that leaves behind acid ash that destroys the colon, and creates prolapsed bowels, cancer, putrefies and leaves behind worms and parasites, it has too large of protein molecules for the kidneys to handle, and can deteriorate your bones, and send you into dialysis fast if abused. Meat feeds parasites not your cells. To make this palatable you must cook it which changes the chemical compound making flash a toxin on the body and addictive due to the oils, salts and seasoning used to disguise the taste of raw rotting flesh. GROSS!

ANIMALS MILK: this is highly mucus forming, and it’s designed for a baby calf too grow from 50 pounds to 300 pounds in 3 weeks, it’s lactose is designed for infants that have lactase to brake it down, and properly digest it in the early development and growing stage. There is a reason we loose the enzyme lactase after we are weened of our mothers milk, it’s because we no longer have an essential need for this food. Milk contains a chemical called Queso-morphine that makes it just as addicting as heroin and can be physically addicting when coming off it. The pus in milk leaves behind so much sewage waste and clogs up the endo cells that create diabetes and can cause Heart Disease. The carcinogens in animal products or just as bad as smoking cigarettes maybe worse new studies have found. High meat and dairy diets causes diabetes and heart conditions and backs up your lymphatic system. DAIRY IS NOT OUR OPTIMUM FOOD…

EGGS: are a by-product of a chicken designed to become a baby chicken. They are high in hormones for that reason that effect our hormones. Making eggs very harmful for fertility. Egg yolk increases bad cholesterol (LDL). Raw egg yolk does not raise cholesterol level as much as cooked ones but cooking changes the chemical compound of the nutrients leaving them a high histamine food that causes allergies. This is because cooked egg yolk has oxidized cholesterol due to heat. However, uncooked egg has high risk of salmonella contamination. At least 4 types of proteins in egg whites block digestive enzyme actions which why you should never eat raw egg whites. At least 3 types of proteins bind tightly to vitamins, which prevents them from being useful. One protein does the same for iron absorption too. Cooking denatures these proteins so they no longer have the same chemical effects but become very mucus forming and toxic on the body. EGGS ARE NOT OUR OPTIMUM FOOD…

RAW TOUGH VEGETABLES: herbivores have multiple stomachs for a reason, because veggies like grasses, tough dark leaves and tubulars contain a tough fiber called cellulose that can only be digested from true herbivores. There is a reason we have to juice and steam certain vegetables and leaves, because they are very difficult to digest for the human species. TUBULES AND TOUGH VEGETABLES ARE NOT OUR OPTIMUM FOOD…

NUTS AND LEGUMES: nuts have a hard shell for a reason they are protected by harsh environments so the plant can be reproduced, and are designed for squirrels and rodents that have the claws, and teeth structure to open the shell much quicker, to get sustain themselves efficiently to meet there needs, they also burry them to start the fermentation process to aid digestion (so if you germinate and sprout these they can be digested in small amounts). Humans would struggle to get there calories form nuts quick enough to sustain them without the balance of macro nutrients going off balance ie too high in fats and protein. Legumes in there raw state are inedible so need to be cooked or at best germinated to make them edible. NUTS AND LEGUMES ARE NOT OUR OPTIMUM FOOD…

FRUIT: so it leaves humans in a natural environment designed with hands to pick, peel, and eat a food source straight from the plant or trees without having to do anything too it….that is easily digestible, detoxifying, powerful and packed with minerals, proteins, fats, carbohydrates and enzymes a complete whole food….FRUITS, BERRIES, MELONS, TENDER LEAFY GREENS AND SOFT TENDER YOUNG VEGETABLES ARE OUR OPTIMUM FOOD…! With some small amounts of germinated, sprouted seeds and legumes and occasionally nuts if your body digests them.
You are a FRUIGIVORS by design who may have eaten insects and the odd other foods like seeds and nuts!!! But let’s remove the insects and just thrive off fruit…🍋🍍🍇🍉 and greens 🌱

HEALING symptoms associated with AUTISM is POSSIBLE – steps of how I did it and how you can too!

I am not a doctor and these are guidelines and practices to which I have followed to heal my sons. Please consult your Doctor or Naturopath before trying any of these. Ok that out the way . . . we need to get the message out that many cases Autism can be reversed especially vaccine related Autism!!

Why does one child get vaccinated and presents with Autism and another is “fine”?

The gut micro-biome holds the key…asthma, ear infections, colic, croup, food allergies, sensory processing and skin conditions are all ‘pre’ autism symptoms. What do I mean by that? Well they are signs the gut and brain is under pressure and that anything can push the body over the edge – vaccines, a poor diet, stress in the home, a trauma ect. Even if it doesn’t push the body to displaying autism symptoms, you can see a life of illness ahead leading to auto-immune issues and eventually cancers ect….everything is connected and the body tries to show you it’s under pressure. We must learn to listen and stop allowing society to tell us these are normal childhood illnesses.

THEY ARE BLOODY WELL NOT! They are signs of a toxic body under pressure. . .

Autism like any illness  or disease is a collection of symptoms that shows the body needs to detoxify. You detoxify the body, the symptoms drop away and the body returns to health. It is that simple!

Autism is separate to personalty or family traits and no amount of detoxifying the body can change personalty -this is about removing daily symptoms that affect your child’s life.

If your open and prepared to heal your child of Autism, ADHD or Learning Difficulties or yourself of any Disease or Cancer you need to work on ALL of these things with dedication and with faith;

• Removing and cleansing the body of parasites, viruses, candida overgrowths, yeast overgrowths and worms by alkalising the body through a vegan plant based diet high in raw living foods and using natural tools like zeolite, broccoli sprouts, barley grass powder, cell food, herbs, clays, detox smoothies and greens and many more even cannabis oil.
• Removing heavy metals from the organs and blood through chelation, either with foods alone like detox smoothies or and green juices or natural herbs or homeopathy or all together.
• Work on deficiencies within the cells and use foods to replace them and homeopathy.
• Nourish the body with real whole foods ONLY, taking the pressure of the gut and nervous system.
• Remove strictly ALL grains, dairy, high cooked foods like crackers, muffins, cookies, breads and biscuits void of nutrients (even gluten free ones and homemade), sugars (even natural ones like honey), salt, coffee, oils, chocolate and cacao, synthetic supplements, powders and processed foods.
• Work on re-wiring the brain and calming the nervous system through meditation, sound healing, music, light healing, early interventions, positive affirmations, Reiki, energy work, massage, osteopaths, Son Rise programs, unconditional love and acceptance and the right environment at home and school with the right people around them.
• Remove toxins from the home and any environment they are in, and from all body products too.
• Remove WiFi from the home (use broad brand plug in only) and get an EMF reading done and mould removed, and smart meter protection or have it removed.
• Install a whole house reverse osmosis safe water system.
• Remove all plastics from the kitchen and make sure your kitchen ware is safe and toxic free and lead free.
• Hold belief in the power of the body and it’s healing capabilities, learning to get out the way and let it heal… i.e. stop sabotaging it with “treats” and let it do it’s thing.
• Repair vaccine damage if they were vaccinated by homeopathy and nutrition.
• Remove ALL videos, TV and iPads that stop the brain rewiring and being calm, instead moving to nature, high vibrational music, art, crafts, journaling, yoga, Qigong and games that involve imagination to build up the right hand brain.
• Surround your family in a high vibration and with high vibrational people to help elevate the damaged cells in frequency.
• Allow time to heal and have faith!
• Self care and self love is important for the parents and carers too 💙 you can not heal your child without caring for yourself first and the energy you project effects the child directly.
• Unite as a family and ALL get involved with diet changes and lifestyle changes. You will see this as a blessing to heal you all soon.

It’s never one thing that heals the body but a collection of approaches and mediums. . . and time!

WHY RAW LIVING FOODS! For Healing Diseases and Autism. . .

What’s the nutritional difference between cooked and raw foods?

When you cook vegetables, you change their chemical composition making them unable to be utilised by the body. Depending on the method and time, cooking reduces the amount of antioxidants in the plants.
This is especially true for water-soluble and heat-sensitive nutrients, such as vitamin C, glucosinolate and polyphenols. Cooking can reduce a nutrient’s ease of absorption into the body, making them useless for the body and it becomes a mucus forming food making it toxic for the body and thus causing inflammation.

We are all energy so eating foods high in energy, vitality and life force will help us have that energy and vitality ourselves. When you eat raw living alkalising foods you feel alive! The food moves through your body faster feeding your cells with high nutrients and a high water content hydrating you from the inside, better than plan water alone in some foods like cucumber, lettuce and watermelon. When you eat heavy, acidic, fatty cooked foods you want to sleep as your system is so overburdened and toxic it removes the energy and oxygen from the brain and muscles. And has to work hard to digest the heavy fatty foods sitting in the intestines, fermenting and dehydrating the body and causing an acidic state which leads to disease and cancer.

Food combining and why is it essential for health!-chart.
If your new to a plant based diet, even though you lose some nutrients value when cooking vegetables, I would still suggest building your vegetable intake up first moving to a 100% plant based diet and removing all animal products, with lightly steamed vegetables and greens. Then when you can and feel ready swapping cooked vegetables for as many raw vegetables as possible to help build your enzymes up in your gut and help PH balance your body, allowing for detoxification of the blood and lymphatic system – remembering fruit and raw vegetables and lots of greens are the only way to detox your body and remove heavy metals and mucus thus healing your body from disease and sickness. Cooked foods are mucus forming and lacking in enough nutrients to build your body to health. We are all so deficient these days with the quality of our soils, food, water and air . . . so to remove nutrients from our food by cooking it is not helpful. Also cooked foods are feeding the parasites and fungus our body are becoming imbalanced with because of it being to acidic. When the body is acidic and deficient in minerals and enzymes, diseases start and cells mutate into cancer. We want to make the body alkaline and thriving!

Knowing how detoxifying raw living foods are, start slowly when adding them in. Swapping 1 meal a day to a completely raw meal combined correctly, and build up. Or eating raw foods till dinner then a lightly steamed dinner. . . until you have regained enzymes to break the food down and the detox symptoms are manageable (this way of eating will not give you full healing properties as the cooked foods will stop you detoxifying fully). Or like me go 100% raw over night ride out the few days of detox and feel amazing and vibrant faster!

Either way increasing your raw greens, fruit and sweet young vegetables will benefit your body so much. You will see it in your skin, energy and vitality. If you can eat a food without doing anything to it bar peeling it then it’s a good raw food for the body. If you have to season it or cook it to make it palatable then it’s not our food.

Knowing you have to make changes, but your feeling scared and overwhelmed?

Are you looking for the answer to better health in your self and your family?

But don’t know where to start or why there is the need for such dramatic changes?

That’s completely understandable, it can mean a massive change to your lifestyle. And if autism is in your family, you’ll know exactly how challenging change can be. or maybe you have become unwell your self and your life is centred around how sick your feel.

A simple guide to understanding Nutrition and the part it plays on your body, and how to heal your own body!

But, if your family is impacted by autism or health issues, you’ll also understand that it’s often the things that make our children (and us) feel the most uncomfortable that bring about the biggest gains in the long run. Nothing that is right is easy.

Take their therapies for example. By challenging our kids, bit-by-bit, they start to make inroads and soon we’ve shifted to a new normal – a better normal that, at the start, we didn’t think possible.

The same goes for our changing your family’s diet. And, perhaps the key to making the change is to think that starting a raw vegan diet as just another necessary therapy needed on your path to better outcomes for your child, allowing all the therapies to work better and give you your lives back, as it did mine.

For our family, starting changes in our nutrition didn’t feel like a choice, it felt much more like a necessity. Does it feel like that to you?

WHY RAW LIVING FOODS! For Healing Diseases and Autism. . .

Our eldest child’s behaviours had been challenging, even when he was tiny and long before his ASD diagnosis. And it was early on that we began to realise that foods were impacting on his little body and his behaviour.

I had worked in the organic health food industry prior to having children, so I felt I had great knowledge about foods. But even foods that I had previously considered healthy, like carrots, were causes obvious tummy upsets, and I was at my wits end.

It was only after months of research and trying different approaches at home did we land into the world of the GAPS Diet and then moved to Raw Vegan where we found most of our gains and continue to thrive getting cleaner and healthier each month. We had already removed gluten and dairy and seen great improvements in William’s health and behaviour, but still we faced the daily tummy upsets, as well as challenging behaviour. Raw vegan lifestyle gave us our sons health back. And mine!

Autism needs advanced nutrition and full focus to heal. It is not an easy road nor short but you will be rewarded beyond your dreams, if you work hard on their nutrition, your mindset and create a clean, chemical free healthy environment.

But when we came across dietary changes and learned more about the ‘leaky gut’ syndrome, it all started making sense. We then made a choice, and for our family, and it has been the best choice we could have made.

Choosing a positive mindset

But – I know for some it may seem too hard, too restrictive and too much work. Let me reassure you, the first weeks are tough, but once you discover your routine – both preparation and tastebud wise – it gets much, much easier. Theres is no cooking and it is so easy!

And you don’t have to go cold turkey. You can start by ‘crowding out’ the unhealthy foods and replacing them with healthier options. That way, you can make the change little by littlest using the right food combinations. Food combining and why is it essential for health!-chart.

So before you put the ‘Raw Living Vegan Diet’ in the too hard basket. Think about the possible outcomes – healthier children and who begin to calm as the diet starts to heal the gut and toxins are eliminated from their bodies. Healthier parents, happy family?

Choosing a positive mindset

When life isn’t going to plan it can be easy to slip into feeling that things are just not going to get any better, especially when you’re faced with issues that seem out of your control, like the health of your children or yourself.

After our son William was diagnosed with autism, aged 2, I experienced a deep depression.

It wasn’t just the result of William’s diagnosis and the grief I felt for the loss of the future I’d imagined for my family and the diagnosis came after two years of struggling every day in what felt like battle zone.

For two years William’s behavior had challenged us, even when he was tiny he screamed every day. Add to this a difficult pregnancy with my second child, and my onset of chromic fatigue and fibromyalgia, and then our second son Edward was diagnosed with a global developmental delay.

I lost all hope. I felt that nothing good was ever going to happen for my family. I felt completely overwhelmed, i lost the will to live.

But, somehow, amongst the chaos that our lives had become, I chose to let go of the negative mindset I had developed and instead tried very hard to see my world with a positive mindset.

I chose to see the good in our lives. I chose to look past the negatives and appreciate each of the gains my boys made – no matter how small they were. I chose to investigate ways to live a healthier lifestyle. I chose a positive mindset, and I haven’t looked back each day I get stronger and more positive. I am now strong in my mind and live each day asa happy confident woman with a healthy family. That is somewhere back then I could never see happening.

Mindset is definitely a choice. Anyone can choose to focus on the positives and anticipate happiness, health and success – and be much better for it.

A positive mindset can give you the feeling that anything is possible and allows you to look forward with hope. It also gives you freedom to look innovatively at the challenges you face and find solutions that a negative mindset may have not allowed you to see.

Thinking positively also gives you an opportunity to see the help being offered by others, and to embrace it.

Alternatively, by choosing to think negatively you can be left feeling that the world is against you, people are there to hurt you, that there are no positives on the horizon and you may find yourself drawn to conflict or combative situations.

For families with autistic children, your day-to-day struggles will continue to overwhelm you and you may not have the strength to help you family make the best of every situation.

Trusting your Instincts and how it can help you find your path to health.

As a new parent you’re bombarded with information and advice about the ‘best’ way or the ‘right’ way of looking after your child.

But what do you do if that advice conflicts with your instincts? What do you do, if you know in your gut, that following all the ‘good’ advice is not what’s best for your family?

Society seems to want to condition us to conform to a ‘normal’ way of parenting, a ‘normal’ way of eating and a ‘normal’ way of thinking. But how can we be normal when everyone has their own brand of ‘normal’.

You need to feel confident in trusting your instincts, even if your instincts lead you beyond what you already know.

For me, I learned the value of trusting my instincts in finding the path to better health, nutrition and wellbeing when I began to look for answers to ease physical, behavioral and digestive symptoms being experienced by our then-toddler son William, who was diagnosed with high-functioning autism at aged two years old.

In those early days I had applied my own brand of ‘normal’ to transitioning William to solid food, and I was quite certain I had it right. After all, I had worked in the organic food industry, food was my passion and being healthy was a conscious goal.

But, as I applied my knowledge to feeding my child, my gut, my instinct as a mother, told me that something was not right.

I had always fed William organic home-cooked foods that I thought to be healthy but the more I read and saw others’ journeys, the more I realised that was far from what I was doing. At one point he was eating three or four safe foods and a carrot or tomato was causing him skin reactions, tummy pain, behavioral issues and sleepless night. How could this be!

Instinctively I knew that there were more answers to be found.

So we followed our instincts and started working with a Biomedical Doctor who guided us thorough the midfield that is food sensitivity, intolerances and food allergies. We used supplements to build up what his body was lacking. And the results were clear, our gut instincts had taken us on the right path and we were beginning to see results.

That’s when we moved from working instinctively to purposefully seeking answers.

Soon we came across the GAPS Diet and, after the initial hard Intro stage and changing our mindset about grains and dairy and lots of detox, we started seeing massive improvements cognitively and behaviorally with William, and our younger son Edward.

Our instincts were right. Our instincts have taken us down the right path for now and have led to happier, healthier life for my family, and a way of eating that has seen William’s stress levels within his body ease, giving him the space to make the most of early childhood intervention therapies. But then my instincts kicked in again and I could see this Gaps Diet was masking and suppressing not healing. So we started searching and I went on as many Nutrition courses studying over 100 diets and cultures,  and we found the RAW Vegan- high carb, low fat way of eating based upon the 80 10 10 philosophy from Dr Dough Graham. This lifestyle took us to further healing and to a lifestyle we adore and that fills us with joy and is easy and fun. I have then studied Natural Hygienics which is based upon the work from Dr Herbert Shelton this is a true understanding of what the body needs from a physical, mental and energetic level and be cohesive to the planet. My instincts also showed me the path away from mainstream schooling to our blessed Steiner School where the boys can be held and celebrated for all there quirks differences and needs.

But best of all, easing the stress within William has given him the opportunity to see beyond the anxiety that autism brings, and has made him calmer so he can now embrace emotionally family, friends and is thriving at school. All of this from a boy, who we were told would never feel empathy, be social or be able to love. We are blessed and my instincts led us there . . .

Thank goodness I trusted my instincts!

What is a ‘Health Coach’ and how can they help you achieve your goals?

If you have heard the term “Health Coaching,” or “Wellness Coaching” and find yourself wondering what a health coach does and how engaging health coach can help you, then this is the answer . . . Health Coaches support people to help them work towards un-achieved goals in all areas of life, they keep you moving forward not in the past talking over old hurts. Health coaching is different to life coaching which is often solely goals based and does not look at you holistically. It may be nutrition, career, overcoming autism or auto-immune conditions, finance, relationship, exercise and health or any other aspect of their life that they do not feel fulfilled in. It’s my belief that all aspects of your life have to be in balance for true happiness and healing to occur. If one aspect is out it can throw out the others I have tools and personal experience that helps you see this and we work through it together. How I do this is by guiding and creating an environment for you to be empowered to achieve small steps toward your goals. Anything is possible with the right mindset and a supporting guide!

  • someone who will make magic happen without hard work from yourself
  • someone who know it all

Bio-individuality is the most important key to health and wellness. We are not all the same and one lifestyle will not fit us all. This belief leads to despondency and disappointment when you try a diet or exercise and it does not give you the results you wanted. How I work at ‘Nourish To Health’ is to mentor you find your path and to work through your goals in a safe confidential way. I recommend Plant Based Nutritional science based diets, lifestyle choices and exercises that suit your needs at that given time. I work with you to emotionally unblock painful situations that could be causing you to keep failing in your goals and teach you how to plan realistic, manageable goals and achieve them over a time frame we plan together. Feeling overwhelmed but knowing you have to make the change

Mothers looking for the answer to better health for your family and, especially if you have a child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) but any health issue, can feel overwhelmed by what path to take and how big a change it can be.

And that’s completely understandable, it can mean a massive change to your lifestyle. And if autism is in your family, you’ll know exactly how challenging change can be.

But, if your family is impacted by autism, you’ll also understand that it’s often the things that make our children (and us) feel the most uncomfortable that bring about the biggest gains in the long run.

Take their therapies for example. By challenging our kids, bit-by-bit, they start to make inroads and soon we’ve shifted to a new normal – a better normal that, at the start, we didn’t think possible.

The same goes for our changing your family’s diet. And, perhaps the key to making the change is to think that starting the GAPS Diet as just another necessary therapy needed on your path to better outcomes for your child.

For our family, starting the GAPS Diet didn’t feel like a choice, it felt much more like a necessity. Life had gotten so bad we needed to take a drastic change.

Our eldest child’s behaviours had been challenging, even when he was tiny and long before his ASD diagnosis. And it was early on that we began to realise that foods were impacting on his little body and his behaviour.

I had worked in the organic health food industry prior to having children, so I felt I had great knowledge about foods and health. But even foods that I had previously considered healthy, like carrots, were causes obvious tummy upsets, and I was at my wits end. Gaps Diet help fix food intolerances and allergies over time by healing the gut.

It was only after months of research and trying different approaches at home did we land into the world of GAPS. We had already removed gluten and dairy and seen great improvements in William’s health and behaviour, but still we faced the daily tummy upsets, as well as challenging behaviour and reactions to his environment.

But when we came across the GAPS Diet and learned more about the ‘leaky gut’ syndrome, it all started making sense. We then made a choice, and for our family, the GAPS Diet has been the best choice we could have made.

But – I know for some it may seem too hard, too restrictive and too much work. Let me reassure you, while the first weeks starting the Introductory Diet, are tough, once you discover your routine – both preparation and tastebud wise – it gets much, much easier. I think nothing of taking our flasks of soup, casserole or fermented foods to the pool, shops, kids parties or beach. The boys take their food to day care and kinder without an issue.

And you don’t have to go cold turkey. You can start by ‘crowding out’ the unhealthy foods and replacing them with healthier options. That way, you can make the change little by little. Start with full gaps and work toward intro stage as your goal.

So before you put the GAPS Diet in the too hard basket. Think about the possible outcomes – healthier children and who begin to calm as the diet starts to heal the gut and toxins are eliminated from their bodies. And how much better their other therapies or concentration at school will be once you lower their bodies’ toxic load.

And isn’t that the whole point? Isn’t that what you’re looking for? A healthy child that has the emotional space to live, learn and experience life?

That’s what I was searching for, and I’m proud to say that’s where we’re headed now.

Theres no limits to what you can achieve if you keep fighting for them.
